Tibetan Parliamentary Delegation Advocates Tibet in Paris, Engages French Leaders on Human Rights in Tibet

Dharamshala: On the October 22, 2024, a delegation consisting of Tibetan Parliament members Geshe Ngaba Gangri, Tsering Yangchen, Tenzin Jigdal, and Thupten Gyatso held a meeting with Mr. François Vauglin, the Mayor of the 11th arrondissement of Paris.
During the meeting, discussions were held about the democratic process of the Central Tibetan Administration, the critical situation inside Tibet, and various issues concerning Tibetans residing in France. The Mayor responded positively to the matters raised.
Later, they met with Mr. Simon Leplatre, a journalist from the French daily newspaper Le Monde, and responded to his questions.
In the afternoon, they met with Ms. Anne Savinel-Barras, President of Amnesty International Paris, and Director Sylvie Brigot, discussing Tibetan political prisoners and human rights issues.
Subsequently, they met with Ms. Elsa Josephe, Vice President of the Parliamentary Group for Tibet in the French Senate, and its Secretary, engaging in extensive discussions about Tibetan issues before joining them for dinner.
