Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel Condoles Demise of Former Indian PM Manmohan Singh

Dharamshala, 27th December 2024: Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, extended his heartfelt condolences on demise of Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

In a condolence letter to the former PM’s wife Gursharan Kaur Kohli, the Speaker wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the demise of your beloved husband, Hon’ble former Prime Minister of India, Shri Manmohan Singh Ji. He was a close friend of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and a true friend of Tibet.”

“With his demise India and world has lost a towering leader with clean political life who embodied simple living and high thinking.”

“He will be remembered for his humility and outstanding services to the nation.”

“On behalf of the 17th Tibetan Parliament in Exile, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family and his followers. I offer my sincere homage and prayers for the departed soul. Tibetan People are with you at this hour of grief.”
