André Gattolin is a French politician (Renew group) and academic.
Since October 2011, he has been a member of the French Senate, currently serving as vice-chair of the European Affairs Committee, vice-chair of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee and also as vice-chair of the information group on Tibet.
Co-chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC) and member of the Steering committee of United for Ukraine (U4U), a global parliamentary network created after the Russian aggression, he has long been involved in the promotion of human rights and the rule of law, especially in South-East Asia and Tibet.
Born in 1960, he studied at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po). Holding a PhD in information and communication sciences, he still teaches at the New Sorbonne University of Paris.
