Tibetan Parliamentary Delegation Continues Tibet Advocacy in Australia

Dharamshala: On August 16, 2024, during a dinner organized by the Tibetan-Chinese Friendship Group in Melbourne, there was an open discussion about the importance of harmony and cooperation between Tibetan and Chinese communities, as both have experienced oppression under the Chinese Communist government.

Similarly, on August 17, during a visit to the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion in Bendigo, Mr. Ian Green, the Chairman of the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion, explained the history of the stupa and described the holy objects related to Tibet, including those associated with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

On the same day, during a dinner organized by the Victorian Tibetan Community, there was an extensive discussion on Tibetan issues with Tibet supporter and former senator Janet Rice.

The delegation was accompanied by Representative Karma Singey and Chinese liaison officer Dawa Sangmo of the Tibet Information Office; Samdup and Choedak, President and Vice-President of Melbourne Tibetan Community, and Tenzin Norzin, VTAG regional coordinator of Melbourne.
